The Science

At Centered Leadership Institute, we understand how the human mind works. It’s about learning AND appling skills necessary to become a leader in your organization. Drawing from neuroscience, organizational psychology, system theory, and leadership development, we take a comprehensive and holistic approach to leadership development by combining best techniques and practices that yield results.

Neuroscience has found that several intelligences interplay in the human mind simultaneously. It is this interaction that fundamentally impacts human performance.

The human mind consists of cognitive and somatic intelligences or – head and gut alignmentWhen they are not developed and nurtured at the same time, it often leads to in-congruence and – in turn – to decreased performance.

Here is an example:

Have you ever experienced a time where you knew exactly what to do? You had the skills and knowledge. Taking action made complete sense. Yet, for some reason you just couldn’t execute? Most likely, your somatic mind, your “gut” interfered with reason. In other words, even though it made “sense” to act, it didn’t “feel right”. The in-congruency between the two different intelligences challenged you to follow-through on your actions.

Our research shows that successful leaders actually “embody” their leadership style.

It becomes a part of them. Through a distinct alignment of mind and body – the way leaders think and act – they gain congruency and consistency in their thoughts and actions. Through this distinct mind-body combination they are able to also create congruency and consistency in their leadership style. Most powerful leaders don’t just apply effective leadership techniques to impact others. They actually live it. Thus, at Centered Leadership Institute, our goal is to help you embody the most impactful leadership style that gets the results you want.
